EMDR

EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps you process distressing memories or negative beliefs using guided eye movements or bilateral stimulation (like tapping). This approach helps reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic or troubling experiences, allowing for healthier ways of thinking and feeling. Many of us carry unprocessed memories that influence how we see ourselves or the world—beliefs like “I’m not safe” or “I’m not good enough.” EMDR helps to shift these beliefs, enabling emotional healing and creating lasting change.

How EMDR Can Help

Trauma & PTSD: Process past traumatic events to reduce their emotional impact and heal.

Anxiety & Depression: Address the root causes of negative thinking and emotional distress, improving mood over time.

Grief: Help process unresolved emotions related to loss, promoting closure and healing.

Why Choose EMDR?

Proven Effectiveness: EMDR is backed by extensive research and endorsed by leading organizations like the APA and WHO.

Convenient Online Sessions: EMDR is just as effective online, allowing you to access therapy from home.

Flexible Intensives: For those seeking faster progress, premium EMDR intensives are available with more frequent sessions.

Getting Started with EMDR

Before beginning EMDR, we’ll have a two-session assessment to ensure it’s the right fit for you:

Session One: A comprehensive assessment to understand your history and goals.

Session Two: Preparation to ensure you’re ready for the reprocessing phase.

If needed, additional preparation sessions can be added to ensure safety and comfort.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

PTSD: Typically 8–12 sessions, as recommended by NICE guidelines.

Anxiety & Depression: Around 6–12 sessions, based on NICE guidelines.

Grief: Sessions may vary, but typically 6–12 for optimal results.

These recommendations are based on evidence-based guidelines, but therapy is personalized. We will regularly review your progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed to ensure the best possible outcome for you.
