Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy
EMDR is a powerful, evidence-based therapy. By using guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps your brain reprocess distressing memories, reducing their emotional charge and allowing you to shift negative thought patterns.
How EMDR Can Help
Trauma: EMDR is especially effective for healing from traumatic experiences, whether they stem from childhood abuse, accidents, or other distressing events. It helps individuals reprocess these memories and reduce their emotional impact.
Anxiety & Depression: EMDR can identify and address the root causes of excessive worry, fear, and negative beliefs. It helps reframe emotional responses, improving mood and reducing anxiety over time.
Grief: EMDR supports you in processing unresolved emotions, promoting healing, and offering closure.
Why Choose EMDR?
Effective & Evidence-Based: Supported by research and recognized by prominent organizations like the American Psychological Association (APA) and World Health Organization (WHO).
Online Sessions Available: You can experience the benefits of EMDR from the comfort of your own home. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person appointments, offering a flexible and secure way to access therapy.
EMDR PREMIUM INTENSIVE PACKAGE
Before beginning any EMDR sessions, whether part of an intensive package or not, all clients require an initial two-session assessment to ensure suitability and develop a personalised treatment plan. The second assessment session is dedicated to preparation, teaching necessary skills to ensure a safe reprocessing process and help manage any overwhelming feelings. If more time is needed for preparation, additional ‘normal’ sessions may be recommended before proceeding with the full package.
Based on your individual needs, the number of sessions required can vary. NICE guidelines recommend 8–12 sessions for PTSD, but some individuals may require more or fewer sessions depending on their unique circumstances. For depression and anxiety, the recommended course of treatment is typically around 6–12 sessions, though this can also vary. Please be aware that it is not possible to know for certain exactly how many sessions you will need.
The Benefits of Premium Online Therapy
EMDR can make you more sensitive emotionally, so having the ability to do it from home provides a comfortable space for post-session care and reflection. With premium online therapy, you can opt for twice-weekly sessions, allowing for accelerated progress in a more immersive and intensive experience.
